Settled Driveway Repair

This homeowner has done all of the work on the inside of his home and had been putting off the dreaded driveway. We removed all of the concrete, and realized the previous owner had run all of his downspouts under the driveway. Which is a great idea, however, the pipe he used broke down over time thus causing the water during storms to drain right under the driveway. We dug out the wet clay and brought in many loads of road base. We ran new heavy-duty pipe for the downspouts. We did not know how bad the sub grade would be until the concrete was removed. We placed a rebar mat and repoured the driveway in 3 separate pours. We used a soft cut saw and added extra control joints, to give this large driveway more room to flex with the weather. The unforeseen problems added extra days to this project but with constant communication and schedule adjustments we finished this project with a happy homeowner. The homeowner was great to work with and very understanding of the unforeseen necessary changes needed to complete the project the correct way.
